Did you know that today’s location of Mona Plaza was the site of the first Serbian chocolate factory? At this very spot, chocolate, biscuits, and sweets, which used to make days sweeter to many Yugoslavs were produced since 1902. The sweet story was started by Kosta Schonda, tradesman and industrial who arrived from Greece to our capital in the second half of the XIX century. Kosta opened the first shop in the 1890s where you could purchase “Olga” – at the time the only milk chocolate in Belgrade. “Olga” was known as “the best of all chocolates”. Cafeteria is located at the site where the first Serbian chocolate factory stood more than a century ago. Hotel has retained the sweet past and industrial elements, combined them with urban design and created a place where unique experiences are made. Take a break on a busy Belgrade day and spend the evening with the sounds of good music. The Shonda Lounge has two entrances for guests – one through the modern ambiance of the hotel from Solunska Street, and the other through the door of the first Serbian chocolate factory from Cara Uroša Street. “The wine cellar Panajotovic is a family winery founded in 2003. The winery was founded by Dr. Viktor Panajotovic out of love for quality wines, as well as for long-term continuation of a family tradition. Our roots in wine production are dating back to 1927 when one of our ancestors, grandfather Thomas, founded the first family wine cellar near Krusevac, which had reached a leading position in the quality and quantity of wine that is produced per year by the beginning of the World War II.”
Leading Vision is preparing top quality wines from the best grapes that grows in the richest vineyards of Serbia. Cellar Panajotovic produces wines from grape varieties Traminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Rhine Riesling, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in which every man can find himself or even his favorite wine.
Depending on the year, wine cellar Panajotovic leaves a certain amount of wine out of sale, so in its basement you can find interesting archival wines aged ten years or more.
Today, production is managed by the youngest member of the Panajotovic family, Vladimir, a professional graduate technologist who has applied traditional recipe for making wine from his ancestors and improved it by modern technology and knowledge .
