At the corner of Cara Uroša and Solunska Street, where the first Serbian chocolate factory once stood, now stands the 4-star Mona Plaza Hotel. Rooms are carefully designed to suit each of guests. The neutral, natural tones, warm atmosphere and modern ambiance of our standard rooms will give you the relaxation you deserve.

Did you know that today’s location of Mona Plaza was the site of the first Serbian chocolate factory? At this very spot, chocolate, biscuits, and sweets, which used to make days sweeter to many Yugoslavs were produced since 1902. The sweet story was started by Kosta Schonda, tradesman and industrial who arrived from Greece to our capital in the second half of the XIX century. Kosta opened the first shop in the 1890s where you could purchase “Olga” – at the time the only milk chocolate in Belgrade. “Olga” was known as “the best of all chocolates”. Cafeteria is located at the site where the first Serbian chocolate factory stood more than a century ago. Hotel has retained the sweet past and industrial elements, combined them with urban design and created a place where unique experiences are made. Take a break on a busy Belgrade day and spend the evening with the sounds of good music. The Shonda Lounge has two entrances for guests – one through the modern ambiance of the hotel from Solunska Street, and the other through the door of the first Serbian chocolate factory from Cara Uroša Street. Indulge in a true delight with creamy coffees, chocolate drinks and various other delicious treats with the Shonda Seal.

The convention and exhibition area, which covers more than 2,000 square meters, is an ideal place for organizing all kinds of conferences, seminars and conventions. Also, the multi-functional space can be adapted to different types of events and is equipped with the latest technology, air conditioning, sound system, lighting and high-speed internet.
